The Route 66 On The Air special event will be on the air Friday, September 11, at 5PM Pacific Time (Saturday 0001UTC) to Sunday, September 20, at 4:59 PM Pacific Time (2359UTC) 2026.
The event commemorates the history of RT66 connecting east and west areas of the US from Illinois to California. 2026 is the 100th anniversary of the Mother Road.
There will be 22 stations participating with their “one-by-one” special event callsigns, Barstow Amateur Radio Club will be W6E. W6E will be on the air as operators are available and bands allow. Any amateur band and mode is allowed, including the use of the club’s repeaters. Any member of the club who wishes to participate may do so.
